City by city: which work leads in which region

The same service list does not do the same job in every city. Nicosia asks for corporate verification, Kyrenia for closing distance, Guzelyurt for packaging, Izmir for the export page. A short map across ten regions.

When a print or advertising project starts, the first question is usually "what are we making". Yet the answer often turns on a second question: where. The same service list does two different jobs in two different cities, because where the customer finds you, what they judge you on, and how long they take to decide all shift with the market.

The short map below describes where the centre of gravity moves across the ten regions we serve. The point is not to rank cities against each other, but to make visible what the same budget buys in each.

Northern Cyprus: six regions, six priorities

Nicosia is the island's administrative and commercial centre. Here a brand's website is often not the first impression but the verification step: the client has already heard of you and visits to confirm you are serious. Clarity outranks spectacle — a legible account of how the organisation is structured, contact details that are easy to find, pages that behave flawlessly on mobile. Corporate identity print usually travels with the same package.

Kyrenia inverts the picture: the audience has usually not arrived on the island yet. For hospitality, restaurant and property brands, design is a matter of closing a distance. The customer does not see you on the street; they decide from a phone before setting off. Demand rising and falling with the season shapes planning too.

In Famagusta the test happens in one place: the phone screen. The young audience around the university and the businesses tied to the port evaluate a brand there and decide there. Desktop barely features.

Iskele is the island's fastest growing construction and investment corridor. A large share of buyers are abroad, the decision runs long and in several languages. A page here does more than inform — it has to make something that does not exist yet look credible, and build trust while doing it.

In Guzelyurt the work begins in the box, not on the shelf. In an economy built around agriculture and citrus, the customer is often not the end consumer but a wholesaler, importer or chain buyer. The person deciding knows you from a sample and a catalogue, not from an advert. Packaging, labels and catalogues move to the front of the queue.

Lefke is small, and that makes the work harder rather than easier. Where everyone knows everyone, a digital presence is less about building fame than making an existing reputation visible from outside. Local customers already know where you are; the question is whether someone arriving from elsewhere can find you.

Türkiye: change the scale, change the work

Across Türkiye, distance has no practical meaning on the web, advertising and social side. Wherever the ad account is managed from, targeting is built for the market; design approvals move through the same file. What decides the outcome is not proximity but how cleanly the process is set up. The real difference appears on the physical side: production and delivery planning for print.

Istanbul's print and advertising market sits in a different size class from the island. The same product can be bought from dozens of producers in the same week. That abundance looks like a buyer's advantage, but it has a side effect: because everyone can obtain similar work, design's job is not to stand out but to differentiate.

In Ankara work usually begins inside the mould of a specification or an official letter. Public institutions, professional chambers, associations and foundations are dense in the city. Every project with them asks for a certain formality: technical documents that match the specification, design that stays faithful to institutional identity.

Izmir is a port city and export is the natural axis of the work. The Aegean's agricultural output is gathered, packaged and shipped from here. Olive oil, wine and dried figs now leave branded rather than in bulk — which places design at the start of production rather than the end.

What does this mean for you?

The difference between cities creates a difference in sequence more than in service. For the same brand, the first investment in Guzelyurt goes to packaging, while in Kyrenia the same budget goes to visibility first. Nicosia rewards corporate clarity, Iskele a multilingual trust structure, Ankara formal correctness.

That is why one of the first things we ask when preparing a quote is where the audience is — not where the business is. The two are often not the same place, and design's job is precisely to manage the distance between them.

The page for your own region lists the work that leads in that market, the sectors we work with there, and the questions clients ask most often.
