In healthcare the visitor's first question is explicit: who performs this treatment and is it right for me. That is why a scalable department and physician structure matters — when a new doctor or treatment is added, the page, its links and its search data should follow the same pattern without manual fixes.

Health is one of the areas in Cyprus that draws the most demand from abroad; a large share of visitors research in their own language. Multilingual structure, a clear consultation flow and capturing phone numbers in international format are therefore not decoration but the substance of the work.

Imagery needs particular care in this field. Publishing patient photographs or before-and-after images requires written consent, and the scope of that consent has to state which channels it covers. An image used without permission, or with unclear scope, puts the credibility of the whole site in question.

Regulation also limits the language available in health promotion: guaranteed outcomes, comparisons and demand-generating claims are not permitted. Within that frame the site focuses on information rather than assertion — describing how a treatment is carried out, who it suits and what to expect makes it both compliant and persuasive.

Frequently asked

Which content can cause problems in healthcare?

Promotion of health services is regulated in both Türkiye and North Cyprus; patient testimonials, before-and-after imagery and any wording that promises a result are the areas most often restricted. We suggest confirming the current form of the regulation your organisation falls under before the copy is written — once the boundary is clear, the design follows it naturally.

Should there be an appointment form on the site?

If there is one, it must state plainly which data is being asked for and why, and ask for no more than that. Fields such as symptoms, diagnosis or medical history create both legal and technical liability once collected through a web form; that information belongs on a secure channel rather than at first contact. For most organisations a name, a contact detail and a preferred time is enough.

How many languages should the site have?

If you receive patients from abroad, building the language layer from the start is both cheaper and healthier for search engines than adding it later. What matters here is not the number of languages but whether each one is genuinely complete: a half-translated page leaves a worse impression than one that was never translated.

What printed material does a clinic need inside the building?

The most used category, and the one that touches regulation least, is wayfinding: door and floor signs, departmental arrows, information in the waiting area. This work has succeeded when the patient does not notice it. The wording of consent and information forms sits with the institution’s own compliance; we handle their production and legibility. For anything promotional in print, the current form of the regulation you fall under has to be confirmed first.
