Measurement & reporting management

Whether advertising works can only be stated with a properly built measurement layer.

Measurement is built before the campaign, not after. In an account that goes live without defined conversion events, the number in the report and the real demand the business receives do not match — and by the time that gap is noticed, the missing history cannot be recovered.

Not every form submission is worth the same. Grouping someone requesting a quote together with a newsletter signup under one "conversion" sends optimisation chasing the wrong goal. Separating events and marking them by importance decides what the platform will try to produce more of.

Our reports are decision-oriented rather than dashboard-oriented. Instead of showing dozens of metrics, we answer three questions: which line closes, which one receives more budget, and which assumption gets tested next.

Browser restrictions keep making measurement harder. Third-party cookie blocking and tracking protection mean a share of conversions never appears in a setup that lives only in the browser. Server-side sending reduces that loss; it is more complex to configure but data integrity improves markedly.

Inconsistent UTM tags split a report silently. "Facebook" versus "facebook", or a trailing slash, shows one source as two separate rows and neither gives the real total. The attribution model changes how the same data reads as well: a last-click report makes the contribution of awareness channels effectively invisible.

Frequently asked

We already have Analytics — is that not enough?

Having it installed does not mean it is measuring. Most accounts collect pageviews but have no conversion events defined, and in that state you cannot say which channel produced demand.

Can phone enquiries be measured?

Yes, once call tracking is set up. Where the phone is the main channel, this is the single step that makes advertising's real contribution visible.

How often do we receive reports?

It varies with campaign intensity. What matters is not frequency but that each report arrives with a recommended decision; a report that only lists numbers is of no use for management.

Why do ad platform numbers not match Analytics?

The two count different things. Ad platforms also use view-through attribution and record a conversion on the day of the click; Analytics is session-based and favours the last interaction. The gap is expected, and knowing which tool answers which question is what matters.

Is cookieless measurement possible?

A fully cookieless setup is not realistic today, but the loss can be reduced. Server-side sending, enhanced conversion matching and first-party identifiers noticeably lower the share of data affected by browser restrictions.
